Every season is Squishy season

Every season is Squishy season

We’ll admit, when we released our first bottles of Starcut Ciders, it was hard to decide which ciders we wanted to share with the world. We knew we wanted something dry and refreshingly simple, so Pulsar made the cut. Then we wanted something for those seeking the sweeter side of cider, so Octorock became our second flagship. Finally, we added Squishy, a semi-sweet Fruit Cider made with Michigan apples and cherries to the mix as a seasonal to highlight the amazing fruit grown right here in Michigan. Squishy season came and went, but once it was gone we couldn’t help by yearn for this delicious cider. Luckily, you all agreed and the demand for Squishy was clear. We’re excited to announce that for 2018 Squishy will be joining our lineup as a year round flagship!

Squishy (6.3% ABV) is a semi-sweet Fruit Cider fermented with Michigan apples, Northern Michigan Balaton and Montmorency tart cherries, and English Cider yeast. Ruby red in color with appealing sweet aromatics, this cider’s initial flavors of dark fruit shift toward a bold tartness that dries the palate between tastes.

Look for six packs of Squishy to begin hitting store shelves throughout our distribution footprint starting this week and enjoy Squishy season, every season.

Erraticus 16 here to ring in 2018

Erraticus 16 here to ring in 2018

We recently released Erraticus 16, to help us say “so long” to 2017, and welcome 2018! This time, our cider makers decided to use a berry that is basically four berries in one. A cross among the European raspberry, European blackberry, an American dewberry, and a loganberry; the boysenberry is certainly a unique fruit and makes an even more complex cider

Erraticus 16 (6% ABV) is a Dry Wild Cider fermented with Cortland apples and boysenberries. Dark rose in color, this cider carries bright inviting aromas of berries and apple. Boysenberry flavors are prominent, but balanced by the apples with a slight funk. Erraticus 16 is refreshing and crisp with a dry finish.

Ring in the new year with a cider in hand and pick up a bottle of Erraticus 16 at Short’s Mart now!

Introducing our new winter seasonal: Bucket

Introducing our new winter seasonal: Bucket

Once we had a taste of Erraticus 6, we knew something special was happening. The tart black currant and apple flavors blended with the soft oak notes creating a unique beverage we wanted to sip on more than once. As you know (or maybe you don’t but you should), our Erraticus Wild Ciders are a series of one-off ciders allowing for wild, natural fermentation to occur, promising each to be one of a kind. Since we couldn’t recreate the exact magic of Erraticus 6, we decided to do the next best thing; allow this cider to inspire our master cider maker, Tony, to create a new seasonal release reminiscent of Erraticus 6 for those cold winter months. Enter: Bucket.

Bucket (6% ABV) is a Semi-Dry Fruit Cider fermented with black currants and aged on oak chips. Deep crimson red in color with a shimmering light pink head, this cider carries aromas of tart fruit and vanilla. Apple and black currant flavors blend well and balance the acidity and sweetness for a clean and dry finish.

This seasonal cider will be making its way to stores and taps near you throughout our distribution footprint (MI, IL, IN, OH, WI, CO) over the next couple of weeks. Find some Bucket in your neck of the woods, and #PickCider to keep you warm this winter.

Is it a wine? Or cider? Or the best of both?

Is it a wine? Or cider? Or the best of both?

Just in time for the holidays, we have the perfect Wild Cider to add to your celebrations. Although it’s not simply a cider, this time we’ve added some Cayuga White grapes to the blend making this crafted wild beverage part cider and part wine. Is it a Win-der? Or maybe it’s a C-ine? Either way, we’re loving the resulting flavor of this combination.

Erraticus 15 is a Wild Cider made with Rhode Island Greening apples and Cayuga White grapes from Torch Lake Cellars. Straw in color and slightly hazy, this cider has aromas of apple and white wine. Leading with tart flavors of apple, grape, and some funk, Erraticus 15 is reminiscent of a funkier Dry Riesling.

Now available exclusively at the Short’s Brewing Company pub and Short’s Mart in Bellaire, pick up a 750 mL bottle of this delicious drink before it’s gone!

It’s Mojito O’Clock Somewhere!

It’s Mojito O’Clock Somewhere!

It’s no secret that some of our favorite beers and ciders possesses a distinctive cocktail flair. From the Gin & Tonic mimicking Melt My Brain from Short’s Brewing Company, to the tequila barrel aged Erraticus 5, our desire for spirit inspired ferments is only growing!

To quench your thirst this month, we’re introducing the next cider in our Erraticus Series. Erraticus 12 is a Mojito inspired wild cider fermented with lime, wild mint, and Jonagold apples from Altonen Orchards. Light straw in color with a slight haze, Erraticus 12 smells sweet and tangy with notes of citrus and mint. Tart flavors of tangy apple and lime are followed by notes of mint. Erraticus 12 is crisp, refreshing, and has a very dry finish.

It’s Mojito O’Clock somewhere, and that somewhere is in Bellaire! Erraticus 12 bottles are now available at the Short’s Brewing Company pub and Short’s Mart. You can take a bottle of this highball cider on your next adventure for only $11.00, no bottle limit.

The eleventh cider in our Erraticus Series, doesn’t disappoint. Comparable to a rosé, Erraticus 11 is light and fruity. This beauty is ready for the beach, boat, or backyard. Pour yourself a glass and kick back. Don’t delay, it won’t be long before Erraticus 12 is on the way.

We Shall Call It Squishy

We Shall Call It Squishy

What is this red, jellyfish adorned cider you ask? In the fall of 2014 we first conjured this freakishly delicious Michigan apple and cherry cider and we decided then, without any hesitation that we shall call it Squishy and it will be ours and it will be our favorite cherry cider! Fermented with only the brightest crimson orbs from our friends at King Orchards, Squishy is now available to you just in time for cherry season.

Squishy (6.3% ABV) is a semi-sweet cider made with Michigan cherries. Ruby red in color with appealing sweet and sugary aromatics, this cider’s initial flavors of dark fruit shift toward a bold tartness that dries the palate between tastes.

As natives of cherry country, we’re proud to bring you the ONLY cherry cider worth sippin’ this summer. With the National Cherry Festival just around the corner (another fantastic reason to pay us a visit in the Northwest corner of the mitten), we’re stoked to say that Squishy is now headed to taps and coolers in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Colorado.

Taste the fruit of the season this week with a pint of Squishy!
